Owen Clark
Sonoma, CA
Owen Clark is a senior at Lewis & Clark College. For his summer immersion, Owen worked with Farm to Pantry, a community-driven organization gleaning produce from backyard and local sites in order to provide their neighbors with fresh produce. In Phase 3, Owen navigated the intricacies of community-designed solutions for soil regeneration and hosted community workshops on myco-remediation to improve soil health across the United States.

Margot Kirby
San Francisco, CA
Margot Kirby is a graduate from UCLA. She spent her summer in Seattle working at University District Food Bank supporting all areas of their operations. In Phase 3, Margot explored how to better support Seattle food systems with local food drives. She also developed several relationships with restaurants, grocery stores, and local food providers to facilitate sustainable donation streams for the University District Food Bank.

Kennedy Wilcox
Dallas, TX
Kennedy Wilcox joined Farmlink because she is passionate about helping food insecure families and children have access to safe food. Kennedy spent her immersion months at The Brazos Valley Food Bank in Bryan, TX. In Phase 3, Kennedy sought to improve the food banking experience for those with food allergies, and developed a sorting category and allergy-specific distribution system for clientele at Brazos Valley Food Bank.

Gillian Feinglass
New York City, NY
Gillian Feinglass is a senior at Emory University and spent her summer at Governors Island, a 10-minute ferry ride off her hometown, New York City. Gillian shadowed the work of Earth Matter NYC learning all about their composting practices and waste management techniques. Gillian then developed a guide to improve organic waste management in NYC restaurants, with the support of federal and local government action.

Conor Flynn
Baltimore, MD
Conor Flynn is a graduate from St. John's College. This summer, he traveled to Ohio and spent June working with the Mid Ohio Food Collective. In July, Conor traveled to Chicago, IL and worked closely with Dr. Howard Rosling of DePaul University, developing a compost pilot and urban gardening and mapping project. Conor combined the learnings from both experiences and wrote guiding principles for food justice, encouraging resilient and sustainable local systems.

Seattle, WA
Ariel Cook is a graduate from Loyola Marymount University. She spent her summer working hard for two Seattle-based organizations, Harvest Against Hunger and West Seattle Food Bank. Ariel joined the FIELD Fellowship to learn more about what advocacy in food systems looks like, and built an advocacy campaign with several community food drives in Phase 3 supporting her local food system.

Anna Bowden

Anna Bowden is a graduate from Louisiana State University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition, Health and Society. Anna spent her summer with ProduceGood in San Diego, shadowing a small but mighty gleaning team and coordinating a 1,000+ volunteer network. She’s passionate about ensuring that nutritious food is accessible for everyone, and developed a Farmer’s Market Recovery Guide to improve distribution of local, fresh produce in Phase 3.

Alysia Jimenez is a graduate of University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Alysia spent her first half of the summer working closely with The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, interacting with stakeholders, working hands-on in food sorting, and exploring local policy. Alysia spent the second half of her summer working with Farm to Pantry, a community-driven organization gleaning local surplus to provide their neighbors with fresh produce. In Phase 3, Alysia wrote and distributed a Local Policy Guide to help improve the resiliency and connectedness of community food systems.

Aditi Kulkarni
Troy, MI
Aditi Kulkarni is a senior at Michigan State University. She studies Comparative Cultures and Politics and is interested in student food insecurity, local and international development, and food system operations. Aditi shadowed Produce Packaging Inc. (PPI) in Willoughby Hills, OH this summer. In Phase 3, Aditi built an educational kit to guide and improve food-justice advocacy on college campuses.
